Excellent post! Although I am at times forced to question my own convictions, I am of the belief that NO children (chromosonal-deficit notwithstanding) are born bad; they simply have poor or non-existent teachers! Everyones first and most important teacher being those elders in their immediate family, if they are unqualified or unwilling to put their interests below those of their seed, the seed is set on a path of destruction and ignorance. It then requires a herculean effort to overcome the teachings or one's negative environment instead of growing into and loving a postive one.
Perhaps taking that risk and giving our unsolicited advice, even rebuke, could help turn our community back into something like the one I grew up in - where several elders in my neighborhood would chastise me, tell my parents, and if needed, discipline me.
To come full circle, I guess we've let down Soulja Boy, not the other way around.

Also disturbingly--Soulja Boy Tell 'Em's words coulda come straight from the mouth of....Pat Buchanan???

"First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

[Reverend Jeremiah] Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American."
