Thank you for such an insightful article & reminder….Your point has even more a similar currency in the Kenyan context that I grew up in with the debris of our past, as well as the present PanAfrican one I find myself marooned on. I keep reminding myself that I need to somehow abstain from the mantra of defeatism that appears to be all about us…with echoes everywhere.

I’ve learned that hatching that iron faith inside you demands a herculean effort & constant reminders, such as the one you’ve written.

This is a STRONG REMINDER of the power of faith, the power of hope, the power of self-affirmation. Tough love is the type of love that rebukes foolishness without decimating the power & potential of a dreamer’s folly. What we dismiss as ridiculous notions must be examined – critiqued, but encouraged for what it might create. Idealists must be celebrated. Thank you for this post.
